Bitmap Game: Camping Trip
Description
In this game players will encourage players to relax in the story of a camping trip, navigating the landscape to their camp site, gather firewood, and gazing at the stars. This is an experience I am grateful to have had many times in my life and I want to give others a brief moment to relax an enjoy the simplicity of an outdoor getaway.
Design Process
This game began as an exploration of symetrical geometric shapes that roughly formed the shape of a maze while sketching, and from there elovled into my favorite parts of going camping. I went back and forth over mouse vs keyboard navigation, but ultimately decided on using keyboard input to keep the pace of play slower and more involved instead of moving one's mouse around. I drew the topographical maze many times trying to get the right look and feel that was till doable, but this part of the project is still in work.

Reflection
If only the process of creating these piece was as stress free as playing the game itself. It ended up under estimating the amount of work I actually had left to complete, and over estimated my ability to achieve a polished project in the amount of time I left myself. the 7-In-7 project really set me back on this project, and revamping my time and project management skills are two of the skills that are becoming increasingly importing everyday.
I will be continuing to work on this project in the upcomming days to get it across the finish line and fix my remaining problems with the help of D&T tutors. I'm really excited to see what the finished results for this project look like, as this kind of camping trip is one that I hold dear and I want to do this right.
